Regulations

... An Additional Safety Guarantee

Stockage Systèmes checks on the compliance of currently in force standards and regulations . In this regard, it enforces the regulations of the standard EN 12573-2* for the manufacturing of its tanks and their later installation.

Standard EN 12573-2*

This standard gives rules for the design and the calculation of vertical cylindrical tanks and welded static non-pressurized flat-bottom thermoplastic tanks of more than 0,45 m3 (450 litres).

Tanks are made of the following thermoplastic materials:

  • Polyethylene (PE)
  • Polypropylene (PP)
  • Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
  • Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)

Tank shell rings can be manufactured either by cold or hot bending (of the plates). The plates are welded later on (plates welded in multiple spots are mounted). Another option is to use the "helically winding extrusion" process or using plain pipes for small dimension tanks.

Over and Under Pressurization: Maximum Resistance

Certified tanks described in this document have not been designed to resist to over or under pressure other that the one resulted from normal use and chemicals transfer (gas transfer included).

Maximum overpressure resistance is 0,0005 N/mm (+5 mbar) and maximum under pressure resistance is 0,0003 N/mm (-3 mbar). Thus, these tanks are not expected to resist to efforts resulting from ground pressure.

The present document does not take into account other possible damages caused by snow or wind.
